Augustus, 27 BC-AD 14. Denarius (Silver, 22 mm, 3.56 g, 6 h), uncertain mint in Spain (Colonia Patricia?), circa 19 BC. CAESAR AVGVSTVS Bare head of Augustus to right. Rev. IOV - TON Hexastyle temple set on podium of three steps; within, Jupiter standing front, head to left, holding thunderbolt in his right hand and long scepter in his left. BMC 363. CBN 1098. Cohen 179. RIC -, cf. 63a (aureus). Attractive light toning. Struck from slightly worn dies. About extremely fine.
